Candidate Handbook 2024

This handbook is intended to assist candidates in Victorian local government postal by-elections conducted by the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC).

The handbook outlines aspects of electoral law that directly relate to candidates. The handbook is not a substitute for the law and should be read in conjunction with the Local Government Act 2020 (the Act) and the Local Government (Electoral) Regulations 2020 (the Regulations).
